The group was founded in 1974. Original members are Jamaican born singer Precious Wilson, keyboarder Gerry"Spider Figer" Williams, drummer Eric Kingsley, Bassist Morgan Perrineau and lead guitarist Greg Perrineau. They all shared a common aim for musical success in order to get out of their 9-to5-jobs and to realize their vision to be musicians. But they didn`t have to wait long. one year after the band formed, they toured through the United States, Africa and Europe.

In 1975 they won the English Soul-Cometition among 400 other they were ranked the top place. Their breakthrough led to a record deal, lots of publicity and offers for exellent live performances. "Our musical background" explains Greg"is Englih music, Soul, Reggae, Jazz and Rock. Even though at first we were labeled a Soulbandany of the above styles was important as the others. And, of course, there are Carribean and African influences". No wonder as they were born in Curacao, Ghana and Guyana. The first released single with the title "let me take you back in time" stayed in the Soulcharts for over half a year in 1976 and was also making the regular Top 50.

In 1977 Boney M. producer Frank Farian took notice of the band. He saw a gig in Germany and was so much convinced of their performance and musical standard that he offered a contract immediately. After a short while they had a world-wide-success with "I cant stand the rain", More hit singles followed like "One way ticket" and "Go Johnny go". From then on the band gained innumerale golden records.
